Highlights: The Swedish Democratic Party (SDP) is planning to introduce a bill that would make it easier for people to vote for the SDP. The bill would also allow the party to hold a referendum on whether or not to continue with its current policies. The SDP is currently in its third year of existence. The party's current leader, Henrik Zellner, says the bill would be good for the country's future. The vote is expected to take place in the next few weeks.

Political scientist Anders Sannerstedt believes that Jimmie Åkesson's (SD) proposal that it should be possible to demolish is well thought out. He says that the opinion itself is well anchored within the Sweden Democrats and by their voters

The party leader's move has led to many reactions, including from the state section of Rosengård in Malmö. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) has criticized the proposal, and Social Democratic Party leader Magdalena Andersson wants SD officials to be fired from the Government Offices.

According to political scientist Anders Sannerstedt at Lund University, Jimmie Åkesson wants to convey that it is the Sweden Democrats who want to own the issue.

"On the one hand, it's intended for your own party and your own supporters – they should cheer a little. On the one hand, it is intended to talk about the Sweden Democrats and what Åkesson has said.
