Earlier it became known that in a Ukrainian laboratory on the territory of the Kherson region, research was carried out in the interests of the United States, including the study of strains capable of causing epidemics.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine may use biological weapons in connection with the failure of the counteroffensive, said the head of the radiation, chemical and biological defense troops of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov.
Kirillov said this at a session of the III Congress of Young Scientists.
"The Ministry of Defense assumes the dismissal of them (the Armed Forces of Ukraine. – RT) activity towards non-standard forms of warfare, including the use of biological agents," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
Kirillov clarified that the Armed Forces of Ukraine can deliberately contaminate water resources, including drinking water. In addition, Kyiv may go so far as to contaminate food and animal feed stocks, he added.
