An official of the Saratov administration was accused of abuse of authority when paying for the construction of a transport facility at a price inflated by 17 million rubles.


This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Saratov region.

According to the investigation, from November to December 2020, the official, in the course of performing work on the construction of a transport facility in Saratov under the contract, refused to conduct an examination of the estimated cost.

"As a result, an act of acceptance of the work performed was signed, which entailed payment for the contractor's services from the budget of the municipality at an inflated cost of over 17 million rubles," the report says.

Investigators opened a criminal case.

In addition, the official's property was seized.

Earlier it became known that the former first deputy director of the Department of Health of Sevastopol was sentenced to eight years in a high-security penal colony for bribery.
