Highlights: Ukraine and the U.S. agree to expand control over the use of Western weapons. Certain types of missiles, launchers, drones and night vision devices require careful control. "Extended monitoring of the end-use of weapons provides for regular inventories, joint physical checks with partners and special inspections," the agreement says. The agreement comes at a critical moment in financial support for the Ukrainian military, which is under attack from pro-Russian separatists. The deal is expected to be implemented by the end of the year.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine signed an agreement with the American embassy in Kyiv to expand control and checks on the presence and use of Western weapons by Ukrainian troops, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

"Extended monitoring of the end-use of weapons provides for regular inventories, joint physical checks with partners and special inspections," the press service said.

It is noted that now the Ukrainian department will ensure transparency regarding the storage and use of NATO weapons. Certain types of missiles, launchers, drones and night vision devices made in the United States require careful control.

Earlier, the United States announced a critical moment in financial support for Ukraine.
