On Monday, the trial started after the high-profile kidnapping drama in Sidsjö in Sundsvall last summer. But it will be a trial without journalistic insight because everything will take place behind closed doors.

SVT's reporter was on site in Attunda but had to leave the courtroom after a short while, along with other media representatives and the audience.

"It wasn't entirely unexpected, it concerns many young people and alleged serious crime," said lawyer Mikael Westerlund, who is defending one of the defendants.

The trial is expected to last four weeks, but what transpires in the courtroom now remains unknown to the public.

"What you can consider is that my client will not be allowed to present his account to the public," says lawyer Daniel Nordfjell, who is keeping one of the other suspects in the case.

The report from SVT's correspondent was thus short – but you can see it in the player above.
