Highlights: Hungary criticized a number of proposals for the 12th package of sanctions against Russia. Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said Budapest would not agree to any sanctions against the nuclear industry. This, he said, would threaten the security of the country's energy supply. The meeting participants made a proposal to ban the supply of Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline to Central Europe, including Hungary, the minister said. The proposal was made during a meeting with European counterparts in Brussels.

Budapest refused to support the proposal to include a number of measures in the 12th package of sanctions against Russia, including sanctions in the field of nuclear energy. This was announced by Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó.

Speaking after a meeting with European counterparts in Brussels, Szijjártó noted that during the talks, a proposal was made to impose sanctions against Russia in the field of nuclear energy.

In addition, the meeting participants made a proposal to ban the supply of Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline to Central Europe, including Hungary.

"We have made it clear that we will not agree with such decisions," TASS quoted the minister as saying.

The Hungarian Foreign Minister added that Budapest would not agree to any sanctions against the nuclear industry. This, he said, would threaten the security of the country's energy supply.

Earlier it was reported that a number of EU countries are in favor of softening Brussels' proposals regarding sanctions against Russia.
