A day after the Supreme Court ruled that Álvaro García Ortiz committed a "misuse of power" when he promoted Dolores Delgado to the highest category of the Prosecutor's Office, the Government of Pedro Sánchez has reported today that it maintains confidence in him and that he will be reappointed Attorney General of the State.

According to government sources, García Ortiz will be appointed attorney general of the State "until 2027" in the Council of Ministers to be held on the 28th.

The current attorney general became head of the Public Prosecutor's Office in September 2022 when the former Minister of Justice, Dolores Delgado, left the position of attorney general for health reasons and due to the intense wear and tear suffered during her term.
