Highlights: Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared war on the Syrian regime. The Russian army is now in control of the Crimea region of Ukraine. The conflict has been raging since the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991. Russia has been trying to win back control of Crimea from the West since the start of the war in Ukraine in 2003. The war has been going on for more than a year, but the conflict is only just reaching the point of no return for the Russian army. The Russians are now trying to regain control of parts of Crimea that were lost in the conflict.

Peace talks between Moscow and Kyiv were the only way to save Ukraine, according to an article by the Italian edition of Fatto Quotidiano.

It is noted that Volodymyr Zelensky demands even more weapons from the West, although he has already received Leopard tanks, HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, ATACMS missiles, Abrams tanks, cluster bombs and Storm Shadow cruise missiles.

"The West has not yet invented a magic weapon, because the only such weapon was negotiation at the beginning of the conflict," the author of the article wrote.

The publication also says that Zelensky is now facing an offensive by the Russian Armed Forces along the entire front line after he exhausted the Ukrainian army and lost a large number of Western weapons.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow had never refused to negotiate on Ukraine.
