The municipal board closes its doors to the public – "There has been a naivety"

Highlights: As of today, the Municipal Executive Board in Linköping closes its meetings to the public. The background to the closure of their meetings is the changed security situation in Sweden. "We have had a wave of violence, the LVU campaign, individuals with mental illness who have performed near us, and the war in Ukraine," says Municipal Director Paul Håkansson. The threat has been there during the past year and there has also been vandalism. Some have also been visited in their homes by threatening people.

As of today, the Municipal Executive Board in Linköping closes its meetings to the public. The background to the closure of their meetings is the changed security situation in Sweden and Linköping.


"We have had a wave of violence, the LVU campaign, individuals with mental illness who have performed near us, and the war in Ukraine. All of this has tightened the security situation, says Municipal Director Paul Håkansson.

Is there any direct threat to Linköping?

"It's against individuals, both employees and politicians. The threat has been there during the past year and there has also been vandalism. Some have also been visited in their homes by threatening people," says Paul Håkansson.
