U.S. intelligence has received information that Hamas and Islamic Jihad are using hospitals in the Gaza Strip as command posts, Pentagon deputy spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said.

"We have information that Hamas and Palestinian Jihad are using some hospitals in the Gaza Strip, including Al-Shifa Hospital, as a way to conceal and support their military operations and hold hostages. They have tunnels under these hospitals," she said.

Singh, citing U.S. intelligence, added that the Palestinian movement "has set up a weapons depot near al-Shifa."

On November 12, the Tasnim news agency, citing sources, reported that the Al-Shifa medical center in the Gaza Strip was completely cut off from the power supply.

The head of the WHO, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, also said that the organization had lost contact with its coordinators at Al-Shifa Hospital.
