John Kirby, the coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, said he did not want to get ahead of the investigation into the sabotage of the pipelines and was not going to speculate on its findings.
"We are concentrating on ensuring that Ukraine gets what it needs. And now we are talking about critical needs," he said.
Earlier, Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, said that the West does not want the organization to call for punishment of those who blew up Nord Stream.
Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov noted that Ukrainian traces of sabotage at Nord Stream are appearing more and more often.
