A soldier of the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in an interview with the Washington Post that the responsibility for the death of more than 50 Ukrainian soldiers in the Kyiv-controlled part of the Zaporozhye region lies with the leadership of this unit.
According to him, the strike occurred during the award ceremony in honor of the Day of Missile Forces and Artillery of Ukraine.
At the same time, the military stressed that all artillery units and the best crews gathered at the event.
This is a mistake of the command, because they should have said: "Let's better distribute awards at the unit level right in the trenches," the Ukrainian soldier said.
Earlier, Ukraine began an investigation into the death of soldiers of the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade "Transcarpathia" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a result of a missile strike in the Zaporozhye region.
Later, Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed the commander of the 128th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Lysyuk.
