The United States announced that it had decided to suspend its obligations under the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (CFE) from December 7.


This is stated in a statement by US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, published on the White House website.

"The United States suspends all CFE obligations between itself and any other State Party effective December 7," the statement said.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that at midnight on November 7, Moscow finally completed the procedure for withdrawing from the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe.

Later, the UK announced the suspension of its participation in the CFE Treaty.
