Highlights: Passenger punched a ticket inspector in the head on a Moscow bus. A criminal case has been opened against the man. Such a crime is punishable by up to five years in prison. The ticket inspector fled the scene after the incident. The incident is not the first time that a passenger has been fined for hitting a passenger on a bus in Yekaterinburg, the capital of the Russian republic of Chelyabinsk. The fine was for $1,000, not for $10,000.

A passenger who did not pay the bus fare attacked a ticket inspector in Moscow, punching him in the head.

This is stated in the statement of the city prosecutor's office.

"The attacker, being on the bus, not paying the fare and not wanting to be brought to administrative responsibility, punched the senior inspector of the Transportation Organizer in the head," the department wrote on Telegram.

After the incident, the passenger fled. A criminal case was opened against the man under Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Use of violence against a representative of the authorities").

The prosecutor's office noted that such a crime is punishable by up to five years in prison.

Earlier it was reported that in Yekaterinburg a conductor was fined for hitting an elderly passenger.
