The alarm was received by the police shortly after 17 pm on Tuesday evening about an injured man in Björkhagen in southern Stockholm.
"The man must have called the police himself," says Nadya Norton, spokesperson for the police in Stockholm.
Location cordoned off
It is unclear what the injury situation looks like.
"He was taken to hospital by ambulance," she said.
The place where the man was found has been cordoned off and several patrols are in place.
"We're working on securing traces, looking for the perpetrator and talking to witnesses," says Nadya Norton.
The police have opened a preliminary investigation into attempted murder.
