Visits increased by 16.9 per cent during the summer period of 2023 compared to the summer of last year. The summer in general, on the other hand, was not a good period for the campsite. The number of overnight stays in holiday villages is increasing in Värmland, according to statistics from Visit Värmland. Visits increased by 16.9 per cent during the summer period of 2023 compared to the summer of last year. "I think convenience is a big factor," says Tina Lindström, site manager for Sommarvik camping.


The summer in general, on the other hand, was not a good period for the campsite in Värmland, in total the number of campsite visitors decreased by ten percent. Above all, the visits from the Norwegian guests have decreased and it is Värmland's largest market when it comes to camping.

Good outlook for the future

The difficult period for camping visits is due to several factors, according to Mia Landin, CEO of Visit Värmland, but above all it is due to the weather. But she believes in a strong recovery for the campsite in Värmland.

"Camping is on the rise, we have many fantastic campsites in fantastic locations.
