The Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan, the founder of the National Parents' Committee, Irina Volynets, proposed to consider the issue of providing a single pregnancy benefit to women upon registration of pregnancy. A copy of the appeal addressed to the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children Tatyana Butskaya is at the disposal of RT.

According to Volynets, now the right to receive a monthly allowance in connection with the birth and upbringing of a child is provided to pregnant women in need of social support who have children under the age of 17.

At the same time, the eligibility of pregnant women to this benefit is determined using a comprehensive assessment of the family's needs.

"In order to solve the problems of improving the effectiveness of the implementation of the entire social democratic policy and strengthening social support measures for pregnant women, it is necessary to exclude a comprehensive approach to family need when assigning a single pregnancy benefit and increase the amount of payments to the subsistence minimum established by the constituent entities of Russia," the ombudsman believes.

She proposed to provide women with a single pregnancy benefit "only after the registration of pregnancy".

In her opinion, this will expand the range of social support measures.

Earlier, the Social Fund said that parents of more than 10 million children receive a single benefit.
