The wave of violence and unrest in the world has caused many to seek out the church, according to cathedral chaplain Lars Åstrand. Uppsala Cathedral therefore held a prayer for the victims of violence on Sunday: "Many people are very personally affected by the violence.

The current gang war and other unrest around the world are causing concern among many Uppsala residents, as Uppsala Cathedral has noticed.

"There are not a few who are very personally affected. This applies to crime in Uppsala. There are large families and children with classmates who have fled abroad," says Chaplain Lars Åstrand.

"Pay attention to the concern"

During Sunday's service during All Saints' Day, the prayer for the victims of violence was raised.

"We felt that we needed to draw attention to the fact that there are so many things that make us worried," says Lars Åstrand and continues:

"There is a need to find security and hope. Some of it is actually in the Church. We notice now that a lot of people think that way.
