Iran's Tasnim news agency on Sunday quoted Defense Minister Mohammad Reza Ashtiani as saying the United States would be seriously damaged if it did not implement a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Ashtiani advised the Americans that they must stop the war immediately, or they will be severely harmed, without elaborating.

Iran considers the United States militarily involved in the war on Gaza as a result of its unconditional support for Israel following the Al-Aqsa flood operation on October 7.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian revealed on October 24 that Tehran had received two messages from Washington that it does not intend to expand the circle of war and calls on Tehran to exercise restraint.

Abdollahian said at the time that his country did not seek to expand the war in the region, but that continuing to kill women and children would lead to impatience with the resistance forces and the people of the region.

Iran denied participating in the Al-Aqsa Flood operation, and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said he saw no evidence that Iran was behind the attack launched by the Qassam Brigades of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on Israel, despite the existence of relations between Hamas and Tehran, as he put it.
