Manchester United were knocked out of the English League Cup after a 0-3 home defeat to Newcastle earlier in the week. Prior to that, the team suffered a heavy defeat in the derby against Manchester City.
Away against Fulham, it looked for a long time like the big team would drop points once again. Scott McTominay had a goal disallowed at the beginning of the game and 0-0 stood for a long time.
That is, until captain Bruno Fernandes stepped up – in stoppage time. After a messy defensive performance by the home team, the Portuguese was able to get a good position and cut in.
This was United's sixth win of the season and they remain outside the top five in the Premier League despite the 1-0 win.
