An unknown man wanted to rob a toy and stationery store on Friday. But the 72-year-old owner of the shop put him to flight by unusual means.

The unknown man had threatened her on Friday evening in her toy and stationery shop in Dossenheim with a sharp object and demanded cash, the police said on Saturday. The woman then threw decorative items from her shop at the masked man. The police did not specify which decorative items were involved.

The perpetrator probably did not expect the corresponding resistance and therefore left the store on foot - and without looted goods. The police are asking witnesses to come forward.
