Snowfall warning

Highlights: Heavy snowfall is expected over western and inland Svealand. Up to 30 centimetres of snow could fall on Monday evening. There is a risk of power outages, delays in public transport and limited accessibility on the roads. The weather will continue to be unstable throughout next week. The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued an orange warning, which may pose a danger to the public. A yellow warning has also been issued. According to SVT's meteorologist Nils Holmqvist, the weather will be unstable through the week.

On Monday evening, heavy snowfall is expected over western and inland Svealand. The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) has issued an orange warning, which may pose a danger to the public.


There may be up to 30 centimetres of snow and the warning applies in central Svealand, southwestern Svealand and Gävleborg counties.

There is a risk of power outages, delays in public transport and limited accessibility on the roads.

A yellow warning has also been issued.

According to SVT's meteorologist Nils Holmqvist, the weather will continue to be unstable throughout next week.
