Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi confirmed on Sunday evening that his country has not and will not allow the displacement of Palestinians from their lands to its lands, during a call he received from his US counterpart Joe Biden, according to a statement by the Egyptian presidency.
The statement said that the two presidents discussed the overall security situation in the Middle East, developments in the military escalation in the Gaza Strip, and the importance of preventing the expansion of the conflict to the regional environment.
The Egyptian president stressed the need to reach an immediate humanitarian truce to strengthen Egyptian efforts with the United Nations and the actors - led by the United States - to deliver humanitarian, medical and relief aid to the people of the Gaza Strip.
Since the beginning of the events in Gaza, the Egyptian authorities have repeatedly rejected the plan to displace the residents of Gaza to Egyptian territory, specifically the Sinai adjacent to the Gaza Strip, in conjunction with official Israeli calls for them to leave.
