The public TV channel "Moldova-1" refused the candidate for mayor of Chisinau from the opposition Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova, Diana Caraman, to present her electoral program in Russian.

It is noted that during the debate, her microphone was turned off and she was urged to speak Romanian.

"I have to interrupt you. Please speak Romanian, according to the rules of the program," the presenter said.

According to the agency, Karaman was forced to leave the debate.

"I am not allowed to present my program just because I speak Russian. This is discrimination," the politician said in a video message on social media.

Earlier, Moscow said that it considers the blocking of Russian-language portals in Moldova a hostile step.

Russian President Vladimir Putin also expressed confidence that at the moment Moldova is losing its identity.

In addition, it became known that a rally was held near the courthouse in Chisinau.
