Podium for Henrik von Eckermann in show jumping

Henrik von Eckermann had a strong performance during Sunday's World Cup showjumping. The Swede finished third in the competition. Irishman Richard Howley won for the second weekend in a row.


Henrik von Eckermann and the horse Dzara Dorchival had a flawless first round and made it to the jump-off.

"I'm very happy. Because yesterday I had a really round. Now I'm back on track so it feels fantastic," said von Eckermann before the jump-off.

Once there, the Swede delivered again and he took the lead in the competition at 36.86.

The Irish took second straight

However, he was passed by both German Philipp Schulze Topphoff, who was second, and Richard Howley, who won the race in 34.18.

The Irishman also won last weekend's World Cup jumping in Oslo.

Other Swedes who participated in Sunday's show jumping were Peder and Jens Fredricson. All Swedes scored points and are all in the top ten in the World Cup overall after two races.

After today's third place, von Eckermann is second overall.
