Al Hilal Saudi Football Club announced today, Wednesday, the injury of its Brazilian star Neymar with a cut in the cruciate ligament of the knee and cartilage.

Al-Hilal explained – in a brief statement published through his account on the X platform (formerly Twitter) – that Neymar will undergo surgery later, after which he will undergo a treatment program to be determined after surgery.

Neymar suffered a serious injury during his participation in Brazil's match against Uruguay, which took place between them early this morning, within the South American Confederation qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, scheduled in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.

Neymar walked off the pitch of the match, which ended in a 2-<> loss for Brazil, on a stretcher in tears just before half-time, after a collision with Nicolas de La Cruz, the Uruguayan midfielder.

It is noteworthy that Neymar joined the ranks of Al Hilal in the last summer transfer period, coming from Paris Saint-Germain, and participated with the blue team in 5 matches in various competitions, during which he scored a single goal and passed 3 assists.
