Highlights: Bildt: "To express oneself in such a way that can be perceived as tolerating violence is unheard of" "I wish maybe I had had more responsibility for situations in Sweden and Europe," says the former PM. "We must take care of our society," says Bildt in response to criticism of his government's handling of the crisis in Syria. "It is not a question of whether or not we should take action, it is when we take action that we will take action," adds the current PM.

Carl Bildt (M) is critical of SD politician Jessica Stegrud's attention-grabbing post about Fredrik Reinfeldt after the terrorist attack in Brussels. "To express oneself in such a way that can be perceived as tolerating violence against a leading political representative, it's unheard of," he said in SVT's 30 minutes.

Fredrik Reinfeldt should have been allowed to remain in the arena without police protection, wrote MP Jessica Stegrud (SD) on X after Monday's terror attack in which two Swedes were killed.

The former Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Carl Bildt (M) is critical of her way of expressing herself. In SVT's 30 minutes that we must take care of our society and protect public decency.

"To express oneself in such a way that can be perceived as tolerating violence against a leading political representative, that is unheard of," he says in the program.

'Significant difficulties'

In her post, Stegrud directs criticism at Reinfeldt and the previous Alliance government, which she believes has pursued an excessively lax immigration policy, which, according to her, has led to people who are security risks not leaving Europe after they have had their asylum applications rejected.

Bildt believes that this is a legitimate position and that migration policy has previously been too open.

In response to the question of what Bildt himself has been responsible for the development, he replies:

"I wish maybe I had had more responsibility for situations in Sweden and Europe, when we look back, yes, we had to deal with significant difficulties.
