Already at the age of nine, Jenny was subjected to sexual violence. It was the beginning of a negative spiral that then led to her taking her own life. Since then, mother Anita Herbert has been talking about the loss in hopes of helping others.

Sexual exploitation of young people affects many people. For Anita Herbert's daughter Jenny, it started at an early age: after being the victim of a rape, life took a turn over the years towards mental illness and drug abuse. Anita Herbert did everything she could to help her daughter, but despite this, she ended up taking her own life in an SiS home last year.

"Angry and disappointed"

Anita Herbert now fights every day to help the vulnerable and extend a helping hand to relatives.

"I'm angry and disappointed in many people, but mostly in the perpetrators. Because of them, there are lots of young people who feel so bad," she says.

Norrbotten a role model

The conference that Anita spoke at is being held for the third year. She thinks it's a good step to bring it to the surface.

"I don't know what it looks like in other places in the country. But as they do here in Norrbotten, everyone should do it. It's a fantastic day.
