Air France announced Saturday to suspend "until further notice" its service to Tel Aviv, recalling that its "absolute priority" was the safety of its customers and crews, after the launch of a surprise military offensive by Hamas. "In coordination with the French Directorate General of Civil Aviation and the Israeli authorities, Air France is suspending its service to Tel Aviv until further notice," a spokesman for the company, which usually operates two flights a day to Tel Aviv, told AFP.

"Commercial measures are in place, allowing customers to postpone or cancel their trip at no cost," he said. The airline's next flight, flight AF984, was scheduled to leave Paris-Charles de Gaulle at 21:10 p.m. for Tel Aviv, where it was scheduled to arrive at 2:30 a.m. local time on Sunday. This and subsequent flights, to and from Tel Aviv, are cancelled.
