The government of the Dominican Republic will close land, sea and air borders amid friction with Haiti over the construction of a diversion canal from the Masacre River, which separates the two states.

This, according to Acento, was stated by the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader.

According to him, the country's Ministry of Defense is ready to fulfill this provision.

As Abinader noted, the problem is that the Haitian authorities do not control what is happening on its territory, namely the construction of a diversion canal on the border river Masakre.

At the same time, the president stressed that the decision to close the border does not mean stopping the dialogue with Haiti.

It was also reported that Poland and the Baltic countries allowed the complete closure of borders with Belarus.
