Highlights: Singer Beyonce is in the middle of a tour of the United States. She is due to perform in Washington, DC, on Sunday night. The concert was supposed to start at 8pm, but was delayed due to a storm. It is now scheduled to finish at 10:30pm, with tickets costing $35,000 for the entire tour. Their concert could not start until two hours later due to a storm. So that her fans didn't have to travel home before the end of the show, superstar Beyoncé made a deal with the metro.

Because rain and thunderstorms have led to delays at one of her concerts, US superstar Beyoncé has made the subways in the US capital Washington run an hour longer for 100,000 dollars (about 90,000 euros). This was announced by the metropolis's local transport network.

Beyoncé had given two concerts in a stadium near the capital at the weekend as part of her "Renaissance" world tour. On Saturday, Vice President Kamala Harris was also there with husband Doug Emhoff and thanked via the short message service Twitter for a "fun date night".

The concert on Sunday could only start about two hours late due to a storm. Due to funding from the tour organizers, all 98 stations of the mass transit network could then have remained open an hour longer than usual, until well after midnight, it said.
