An 18-year-old found a bag with about 9000 euros in cash in the toilet of a motorway service station near Passau. The young man immediately reported the find to the gas station staff, as the police announced on Tuesday. The owner could be quickly located on the basis of the documents in the bag.

A 42-year-old man in transit, who owned the money, had not noticed his loss until then, according to police. He was visibly relieved, it said.

According to the information, the man made his way to the Passau traffic police and was able to receive his money back. The 18-year-old had received a finder's reward.
