Heavy rain over Dalarna – several alarms about flooding and power outages

Highlights: Several alarms have been received about flooding in Rättvik and Borlänge. In northern Dalarna, more than 11,000 households have had power outages during the day due to thunderstorms. Three flood alerts came in in less than ten minutes. The majority of outages have been short-lived, and many households have now had power restored. Several alarms have been received about flooding in Rättvik and Borlänge. In northern Dalarna, more than 11,000 households have had power outages during the day due to thunderstorms.

During lunchtime on Monday, three flood alerts in Rättvik came in in less than ten minutes. The rainy weather has hit parts of Dalarna. When SVT reached the emergency services, units had been sent to the affected areas, but there was no time to answer questions.

"It's raining a lot. I don't really have time to talk, the phone rings now, says the rescue service when SVT reaches them by phone.

Thunderstorm causes power outage

In Älvdalen and Mora municipalities, a total of over 11,000 households were temporarily without power due to thunderstorms on Monday afternoon. The majority of outages have been short-lived, and many households have now had power restored, The power outages have occurred in several different places.
