Highlights: Highland cattle ran from a farm in Schleswig-Holstein to the train station. They were caught by police and taken to a nearby farm. A second cow spent the night in a paddock near the first cow's home. It is not known why the cow ran from the farm to the station. The second cow was not found until after the first one had been caught and returned to the farm. The cow is now being cared for by a local farmer and his family.

Perhaps it wanted to go to Kiel: A highland cattle fled from its pasture near Flensburg and ran almost to the train station. A veterinarian anesthetized the cow, whose accomplice was grazing in a paddock.

A runaway highland cattle ran almost to the train station in Flensburg on Monday evening – after a major operation, it was finally stunned by a hunter. Several streets around the station, as well as a park, had to be temporarily closed, as the police announced. In order to recapture the animal, both federal and state police arrived.

As the Schleswig-Holsteinische Zeitungsverlag (SHZ) reported, the animal grazed in the park not far from the train station. Eventually, a hunter managed to stun the cattle with a rifle. According to SHZ, it then moved into a cordoned-off construction site on Bahnhofstrasse, where it lay down on the ground. With the help of the animal owner, the cattle was finally loaded onto a trailer and brought to the paddock at home.

The animal, along with another highland cattle, had fled from a pasture about 2.4 kilometers from the train station. The other cow ran about 750 meters and spent the night in a paddock.
