The written mathematics Abitur in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is upgraded by one grade point. The processing time of the tasks had been estimated by experts in retrospect as too short, said State Education Minister Simone Oldenburg (Left) on Monday in Schwerin.

In addition, this Abitur class in the 10th grade had been in distance learning for several months due to the corona restrictions. According to the experts, this has a negative effect, especially in mathematics.

In the basic mathematics course, the grade point average of the written Abis was 4.0 and 4.2 respectively, well below the level of the previous year.

Five points are needed to pass the exam.
