Lavrov: there are people in the West who understand that the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine is unacceptable

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin for the program "Moscow. Kremlin. Putin" of the TV channel "Russia 1" said that the escalation in connection with the supply of weapons to Ukraine is unacceptable and many people in the West understand this.


Zarubin published a fragment of his statement in his Telegram channel.

"Of course, this is an unacceptable escalation," Lavrov said.

Earlier, the Russian ambassador to London, Andrei Kelin, said that Russia is ready for peace, but the West is leading the world to escalation.

On May 2, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that over the past month, the Russian army destroyed eight aircraft and more than 400 tanks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
