The sanctions imposed by Western countries in response to Russia's special operation in Ukraine are aimed at destroying Russian aircraft, but the country's authorities will not allow this, said Alexander Neradko, head of the Federal Air Transport Agency.

In March 2022, a similar statement was made by the head of the Directorate General for Mobility and Transport of the European Commission, Henrik Hololei.

“Yes, there was such a frank statement by a high-ranking European official, which, apparently, he had been hatching for a long time.

It didn’t work out,” Neradko said in an interview with RBC.

According to him, this plan failed, as those in Russia who are responsible for aviation made the right and timely decisions.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said that Aeroflot would receive 63 Russian aircraft in 2023-2025.
