Express: Putin's decree on Poseidon torpedoes will have a huge strategic impact on NATO

Columnist for the British newspaper Express Rohan Gupta expressed the opinion that the order of Russian President Vladimir Putin to develop advanced Poseidon nuclear torpedoes capable of causing a tsunami will affect NATO.

The author notes that the torpedo can sail at a speed of about 200 km / h, maneuver and go unnoticed, which will not allow existing NATO systems to detect and intercept it.

A fully functioning Poseidon will have an incredible strategic impact.

Upon reaching the target, the torpedo fires and creates a tsunami wave that can sink the coast of a potential enemy, Gupta notes.

On January 17, British Express columnist Jack Walters expressed the opinion that Russia could "arrange a tsunami" with the latest Poseidon nuclear torpedoes.

Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, said that the Russian Poseidon underwater unmanned vehicle, which can carry a nuclear charge, is inaccessible to interception by modern means.
