The new Italian Minister of Health,

Orazio Schillaci

, announced this Friday the

elimination of sanctions on health personnel who were not vaccinated

during the pandemic and their reintegration into their jobs.

In addition, he pointed out that the data on those infected and deceased by Covid-19 will not be disseminated daily as until now.

Schillaci, a doctor, former rector of the Roman university of Tor Vergata, and one of the technocrats chosen by the leader of the Brothers of Italy,

Giorgia Meloni

, for his Executive, decided that "6 months after the suspension of the state of emergency, and in consideration Due to the trend of infections by Covid-19, it is considered appropriate to initiate a progressive return to normality in activities and behaviors, inspired by criteria of responsibility and compliance with current regulations," according to a note.

For this reason, the note adds, "the daily publication of the data bulletin regarding the spread of the epidemic, hospitalizations and deaths, which will now be published weekly, will be suspended."

This Thursday, 31,760 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in 24 hours and 94 deaths.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Health announced the annulment of the employment suspension files for non-compliance with the vaccination obligation, introduced by the previous minister, Roberto Speranza, "due to the expiration of the provisions in force on December 31 and the worrying shortage of medical staff".

Schillaci was part of the Scientific Committee of the Higher Institute of Health, which was created to manage the pandemic.

The new minister has also approved Meloni's proposal to

create a parliamentary commission of inquiry on Covid

." It is useful to clarify what happened from an administrative point of view, because in terms of expenses, for example, it is correct to give a signal to many people sick that public money is spent correctly".

For the moment, the Minister of Health has not given more details about the

vaccination campaign against Covid in the country, highly criticized by the League and Brothers of Italy

, parties that make up the government coalition.

The Italian prime minister criticized the measures of the previous executives to stop the pandemic, assuring that "the fundamental freedoms of people and economic activities were limited" and

advanced that her government will never apply these closures.
