The Riksdag has voted in favor of the Government's proposal for amendments to the law, which will take effect on 1 July.
These include increased penalties for abuse in court and perjury.
Among the changes to the law are also lighter punishments for crown witnesses.
The Riksdag also calls on the government to guarantee that the Crown Witnesses receive the penalty discount that the prosecutor offers, writes Dagen Juridik.
The Riksdag also wants the crime of criminal protection to be extended so that there can be more convictions than today.
