Poll: 60% of Germans support the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline

In Germany, 60% of citizens support the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. This is evidenced by the data of the survey conducted by the Infratest dimap institute, commissioned by the ARD TV channel.


It is noted that the gas pipeline project is supported by 70% of the population in eastern Germany and 57% in the western part of the country.

28% of the citizens of Germany are against the construction of the gas pipeline.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin said that certification of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline could drag on until the summer of 2022.

On November 16, it became known that the German regulator suspended the certification of Nord Stream 2 AG as an independent operator of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
