The Spanish composer and saxophonist
Pedro Iturralde
(Navarra, 1929) has died today
at the age of 91
, as this newspaper has been able to confirm Iturralde was a pioneer in Spain.
In addition to such innovative experiments as "Jazz Flamenco", recorded in 1967 together with Paco de Lucía, among his many initiatives is to propose to the Ministry of Education, in 1973, the first chair of saxophone in the higher conservatories, of which took charge by winning it by opposition.
