The number of victims of the collapse of a hotel in Fujian province in southeastern China has increased to 20, more than 40 people have been injured, said Shang Yong, deputy head of the emergency department of the PRC.


As he noted, 10 people are still under the rubble, reports RIA Novosti.

“61 people managed to be pulled out from under the rubble, of which 20 were killed, 41 were injured, and 10 more remain under the rubble,” said Shang Yong.

Search and rescue operations at the scene of the incident are ongoing.

Earlier it became known that from the rubble of the hotel that collapsed in the Chinese province of Fujian, rescuers recovered 50 people, two of them no longer had signs of life.

It was reported that under the rubble were 70 people.

As the Chinese media reported, the building was used to quarantine people who were in close contact with those infected with a new type of coronavirus infection, COVID-19.
