Japanese Ken Tanaka holds her record in the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest person in the world celebrating her 117th birthday at a nursing home in Fukuoka, southern Japan.

The Guinness Book of Records stated that last year, it was confirmed that Tanaka was the oldest person on earth, reaching 116 years of age and 66 days on March 9th.

She added that Tanaka was born incomplete in 1903, and she married Hideo Tanaka in 1922. The woman and her husband had four children, in addition to a fifth adopted child.

Video footage broadcast by local TV channel Kyo showed Tanaka celebrating her birthday today at a party attended by the care home and her friends.

Tanaka, who was born on January 2, took a bite of the big cake for her birthday. "Tasty," she said, smiling. I want more".
