Venezuelan Defense Minister ordered "to facilitate the US process of imposing sanctions"

Venezuela’s defense minister, Vladimir Padrino Lopez, said ironically that he had ordered the list of Venezuelan senior officers to be sent to the United States so that it would be easier for Washington to impose sanctions.


“I ordered to send a complete list of senior officers and admirals of the armed forces to the US Treasury to facilitate their task of introducing sanctions against revolutionary defenders of the Constitution and national sovereignty, according to quotas,” he wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, the United States expanded the sanctions lists in Venezuela. Sanctions were imposed on six individuals, among them Richard Lopez Vargas, commander of the National Guard.

The Venezuelan authorities, commenting on the US sanctions, said that the US government is conducting a fierce campaign to overthrow Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
