In the US, they advised not to sell F-35 aircraft to Turkey, if Russian S-400 air defense systems are to be shipped there. This proposal was made by the commander of the European command of the US Armed Forces, General Curtis Scaparrotti.

“My advice as a military man is not to sell (aircraft) the F-35, not to fly, and in general not to use them with countries that use Russian defense systems, especially air defense systems,” he said during a speech in the Senate.

He added that he would like Turkey to reconsider the decision to buy C-400 from Russia.

“I would like them to reconsider the decision regarding this particular armament system, which potentially prevents us from receiving many other systems that we provide to them,” RIA Novosti quotes.

Earlier, the Acting US Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan said that he continues to convince the Turkish authorities to abandon plans for the acquisition of Russian anti-aircraft missile systems S-400.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan assured that the country will not refuse the deal.
