The Kremlin commented on the detention of Assange

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the detention of the founder and former editor of Wikileaks Julian Assange by the British police, expressed the hope that the rights of Assange will be respected.


He answered the question whether it is possible that Russia would provide Assange with asylum.

“He is arrested in London, so I cannot say anything now. We certainly hope that all his rights will be respected, ”said Peskov.

Earlier, Ecuador refused Assange asylum. After that, law enforcement officers detained Assange at the Ecuadorian embassy in London.
