The head of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Lilian Mori Pasquier, expressed regret at the fact that Russia decided not to send a delegation in 2019 to participate in the work of the Assembly.

This informs RIA Novosti with reference to the statement Pasquier.

“I regret that the Russian parliament sees no reason to appoint a delegation to our regular session in 2019 because, as a member of the Council of Europe, Russia is obliged to participate in its statutory bodies,” he noted.

Pasquier added that he will inform members of the presidential committee and the PACE bureau about the statements and positions of the Russian parliament.

Earlier it was reported that the State Duma will not send a delegation to participate in the PACE in 2019.
