The EU will allocate € 50 million to support the security of Berdyansk and Mariupol

The European Union will provide € 50 million in assistance for a special project that is linked to supporting the security of the Azov coast of Ukraine, in particular, Mariupol and Berdyansk.


It is reported by UNIAN with reference to the statement of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

“€ 50 million goes to the Azov coast, support for Mariupol, Berdyansk, but the Black Sea coast is also enough, we will also provide it, and on the Danube, we can also do it,” said the Ukrainian leader.

Earlier, during a meeting with the foreign ministers of Estonia, Lithuania and Poland, Poroshenko expressed hope for increased assistance from the European Commission and EU member states to support Donbass and the Ukrainian Azov region.

Political and economic analyst Volodymyr Soloveychik, in an interview with FAN, praised Poroshenko’s hope for increased assistance from the EU.
