Russian leader Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi due to the tragic consequences of the train crash that occurred at Cairo Central Station.


The corresponding telegram is published on the website of the Kremlin.

"Russia shares the grief of those who have lost their loved ones as a result of this incident, and hope for a speedy recovery of all the victims," ​​the message says.

On February 27, a high-speed train crashed into a platform at the Ramses train station in the center of the Egyptian capital. As a result, the fuel tank caught fire and exploded, after which the fire spread across the platform and the cars.

At least 28 people died, dozens were injured.
